Blood and Gore Confirmed for Final Release

Following initial concerns over the lack of blood in the reveal trailer, fans were worried that the upcoming remake might tone down the original’s gritty atmosphere. Ubisoft Singapore producer Justin Ng clarified that the initial trailer was toned down for marketing and rating purposes, assuring the community that blood will be present in the final game and will not be locked behind a paywall. An IGN Nordic gameplay slideshow recently gave fans a closer look at the actual combat visuals with blood effects active.

Deep HUD Customization and Visual Toggles

To cater to different playstyles, the developer is implementing a customizable user interface. Players can choose from four presets: Default, Simple, Minimal, and Disabled. For those wanting maximum immersion, the Disabled preset removes all on-screen indicators, while individual toggles let players turn specific UI elements, such as blood splatter and visual notifications, on or off.

  • HUD Presets: Quick options ranging from full visual aids to a clean screen.
  • Toggle Options: Granular settings to disable blood effects, health indicators, or combat prompts.
  • Quick Switch: A button shortcut allows players to hide or show the HUD during gameplay without pausing.

These visual features complement the game’s broader combat overhaul and modernized stealth systems, which you can learn more about in our gameplay showcase summary.
