Ubisoft Singapore’s remake has gotten off to an explosive start. Within its first 24 hours on store shelves, the game has sold over two million copies across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. To celebrate this milestone—and to offer a peace offering following early player friction regarding in-game popups—Ubisoft is giving away a set of free digital rewards to all players. Here is what you can get and how to add these items to your pirate setup.

What Are the Free Launch Rewards?

To show appreciation to early adopters, players can claim a mix of ship cosmetics, in-game currency, and an interactive companion:

  • Crimson Storm Sails: A new cosmetic skin that gives the Jackdaw a striking red appearance as you sail the Caribbean.
  • 1,500 Animus Keys: A bundle of in-game currency to help you navigate the economy.
  • Pet Monkey: A companion animal that will hang around the decks of the Jackdaw or accompany you during land exploration.

Why Ubisoft Is Giving Away Free Items

The giveaway serves a double purpose. On one hand, it celebrates a major financial success. The game has already shattered Steam records for the franchise, logging nearly 100,000 concurrent players on Valve’s platform alone.

On the other hand, the launch has not been entirely smooth. Many players expressed frustration after encountering a forced tutorial popup promoting store microtransactions roughly an hour into the campaign. While Ubisoft recently defended its monetization practices, the developer is utilizing this free bundle as both a thank-you package and a soft apology to ease community tension.

How to Redeem Your Rewards

Claiming the items is straightforward. Players can retrieve their packs through their platform store or directly within the game’s menu.

  • Ubisoft Connect: Open the Ubisoft Connect overlay in-game, navigate to the Rewards tab, and select the thank-you bundle to unlock the Crimson Storm sails and the 1,500 Animus keys.
  • Pet Monkey Redemption: The pet monkey can be claimed through the in-game store menu or via Ubisoft’s official redemption site. Once redeemed, the pet will appear near the cabin of the Jackdaw.
