Black Flag Resynced Secrets: The Revenge Ship Set, Secret Shanties, and Stede Bonnet's Outfit

A pirate captain silhouetted against the moonlight, opening a glowing treasure chest on a sandy beach while a massive galleon with dark sails anchors in the cove behind him.

We are a few weeks out from the launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and the most dedicated corsairs have finally finished the main storyline and started scouring every single sandbank for remaining loot. While standard treasure maps cover the bulk of the Caribbean’s wealth, Ubisoft Singapore has hidden several unlisted chests and completely new easter eggs that are not tracked on the default completion map. Over the past 24 hours, the community has tracked down the precise locations of the elusive ALL-NEW Revenge Ship Set and the highly requested Stede Bonnet outfit.

At the same time, players pushing for the Platinum trophy are running into the harsh realities of RNG mechanics and a few newly discovered softlock bugs that can temporarily halt your progression. Here is everything the community has unearthed recently, from hilarious audio easter eggs to game-breaking dynamic weather glitches that you need to watch out for.

Hidden Chests: The ALL-NEW Revenge Ship Set

Upgrading the Jackdaw is a core pillar of the Black Flag Resynced experience. While you can find standard upgrades through normal progression and taking down Man-O-Wars, cosmetics dictate how intimidating you look when pulling up to an enemy fort. Content creators and explorers have recently uncovered hidden chests containing the entirely new “Revenge” Ship Set, which includes a distinct figurehead and a set of ragged, dark sails.

Unlike the standard cosmetics you purchase from harbor masters or unlock via straightforward side quests, the Revenge set requires a bit of manual exploration. These chests do not automatically populate on your mini-map when you synchronize a viewpoint. You have to physically stumble upon them or know exactly where to look based on community findings.

Equipping the Revenge figurehead and sails gives the Jackdaw a drastically darker aesthetic, reminiscent of Blackbeard’s legendary Queen Anne’s Revenge. If you want to maximize the visual impact of your vessel during high-stakes naval combat, this set is an absolute must-have. Make sure you closely investigate the minor sandbank islands in the southern quadrants of the map, as these unlisted chests are deliberately placed off the beaten path.

Becoming the Gentleman Pirate: Stede Bonnet’s Outfit

Stede Bonnet is one of the most fascinating historical figures in the Golden Age of Piracy. Known as the “Gentleman Pirate,” Bonnet abandoned a wealthy landowner’s life to buy a ship and sail with actual cutthroats, eventually crossing paths with Blackbeard himself. Naturally, players have been begging for his posh, ridiculous outfit for Edward to wear.

The community has finally found the specific treasure chest that unlocks the Stede Bonnet Outfit. Much like the Revenge Ship Set, this chest is hidden away and requires a keen eye. Wearing Bonnet’s opulent coat and gentleman’s breeches while performing brutal assassinations or commanding a crew of hardened criminals offers a hilarious contrast. For fans of the lore and historical figures, donning this attire adds a great layer of roleplay. You can read more about the real-world histories of these pirates on our characters page.

The Secret “Rickroll” Shanty

One of the most universally praised aspects of the original game was its music, and the development team promised new additions for the remake. We already knew there were 10 brand-new tracks, but players have just stumbled upon a secret that nobody saw coming.

According to recent reports, there is a hidden sea shanty floating out there that, when caught and sung by your crew, functions as an elaborate, period-accurate Rickroll. Yes, you read that right. Ubisoft has managed to arrange a 1700s tavern-style rendition of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up,” performed by a chorus of burly sailors.

Finding sea shanties usually involves chasing flying manuscript pages across rooftops and tree branches. This secret shanty reportedly behaves similarly but is tucked away in a highly unexpected location. If you hear your crew start singing a strangely familiar, upbeat melody about never giving you up or letting you down, know that you have just been pranked by the developers.

Platinum Hunters Beware: The Dilettante Trophy and Kenway’s Fleet RNG

For those aiming for 100% completion on PlayStation, Xbox, or Steam, the “Dilettante” trophy requires you to collect various art pieces and artifacts. However, a significant number of these artifacts are locked strictly behind the Kenway’s Fleet minigame.

Community members on trophy-hunting boards have raised flags about the abysmal spawn rates for these specific artifacts. Because Kenway’s Fleet relies on real-time timers and randomized mission rewards, getting the exact artifact to drop can feel completely out of your control. Players report sending out maximum-level ships on the hardest trade routes for days without seeing the required item.

If you are going for the Platinum, do not leave Kenway’s Fleet for the end of your playthrough. Start sending your ships out as early as possible. Keep your trade routes secure to lower the risk of losing ships, and prioritize missions that explicitly list artifacts in their potential loot pool. Community PSA: Softlocks and Camera Bugs to Watch Out For

While the Anvil engine overhaul looks stunning and plays incredibly smoothly, the combination of complex physics and dynamic weather has resulted in a few bizarre bugs that can halt your progress. The community has documented several issues you should actively try to avoid.

The “Vainglorious Bastards” Tornado Softlock

This is arguably the most severe bug currently reported. During the main mission “Vainglorious Bastards,” your objective is to pull your ship alongside the NPC vessel, the Ranger, and dock. However, the game’s dynamic weather system does not pause during scripted events.

Players have reported instances where a massive waterspout (tornado) spawns directly on top of the Ranger just as you approach it. The physics engine takes over, completely destroying the Ranger and sinking it to the bottom of the ocean. The mission script then updates to “Talk to Vane” (the NPC captain), but because his ship no longer exists, the game drops his character model roughly 10 kilometers beneath the ocean floor.

If this happens, you cannot reach him, and the mission softlocks. Restarting the checkpoint sometimes fails to fix it if the active weather state saves. If you see a tornado forming during this mission, fast-travel away or abort the memory immediately to reset the weather before the Ranger gets destroyed.

The Travel Sails Camera Glitch

Another heavily reported issue occurs shortly after the underwater exploration section in Blackbeard’s treasure cave. Players have noted that after resurfacing and returning to the Jackdaw, engaging the “Travel Sails” mode causes the game’s camera to completely malfunction, spinning wildly or locking at an unplayable angle.

The underwater segments in Resynced use a heavily modified camera system to simulate swimming in tight spaces. It appears that leaving the cave doesn’t always cleanly hand the camera controls back to the naval exploration state. If your camera breaks after diving, avoid engaging Travel Sails. Instead, use the nearest fast-travel point to force the game to reload the environment and reset the camera parameters.

UI Completion Bugs in Havana and Florida

Finally, completionists should note a visual bug regarding map progression. Several players have fully cleared Havana and the Florida zones—collecting every chest, fragment, and secret—only for the world map to stubbornly refuse to display the area as 100% completed. Ubisoft has not yet confirmed a patch for this, but community testing suggests that the actual background tracking works fine for achievements. It is strictly a visual UI error on the map screen, so you do not need to panic and restart your save file if you are certain you grabbed everything.

As more players reach the endgame, we expect even more secrets to surface. The Caribbean is vast, and the developers have clearly stuffed it with unlisted content. Keep your eyes on the horizon, back up your saves to avoid softlocks, and happy hunting.
