Deepening the Lore with 90+ Codex Pages

Recent preview footage has revealed a massive change to how the game handles historical background. A complete menu tour of a recent build shows that the database now boasts over 90 Codex pages, providing extensive historical context on the Golden Age of Piracy. This database offers detailed bios, historical backgrounds of Caribbean ports, and the real-world events that inspired Edward Kenway’s journey.

For lore hunters, this expanded Codex represents a significant step up from the 2013 original, integrating Singapore’s reworked narrative structure directly into the pause menu.

Tackling the New Trophy List

In addition to the database details, a new trophy and achievement list has surfaced. The achievements cover a mix of combat milestones, ship upgrades for the Jackdaw, and completionist goals.

Unlike the original release, which featured heavy multiplayer requirements, this list focuses entirely on the single-player campaign. It rewards players for exploring underwater shipwrecks, mastering the redesigned combat system, and collecting all ten new sea shanties. This trophy list expands on the completionist features Ubisoft Singapore announced when the game went gold, showing a clear shift away from online achievements to deliver a pure single-player pirate experience.
